Terri Connellan and Quiet Writing as featured in….
As a writer, I am keen to get my unique voice out there in various ways. One of the ways I do this is via guest blogging and writing feature articles. This page collates my writing on other platforms in one place. I write about:
- personality and psychological type
- introversion especially introversion and recruitment – how to present yourself in the best way as an introvert and how to be inclusive of introverts in human resources practices
- neuroscience, neurodiversity and valuing individual difference especially in the workplace
- book reviews, inspiring reads and recommended books such as for emerging coaches
- leadership, self-leadership and solitude and the importance of leading yourself first
- psychology of personality type and preferred cognitive functions such as introverted and extraverted intuition
My pieces are informed by personal experience, books, inspirational teachers and writers, formal study and accreditation including in language, life coaching and psychological type, and my extensive experience as a life coach and leader and teacher in the adult vocational education field.
Here’s a round-up and I hope you enjoy reading further.
Guest post on INTJs and COVID-19
I wrote a post on INTJs and how I have responded to and negotiated the COVID-19 pandemic for my friend, fellow INTJ and Social Media Strategist and Content Creator, Bree Rackley, over on her blog:
Self-Isolation Is A Challenge For All Of Us. Yes, Even Introverts.
Writing this post helped me make sense of how I responded in these uncertain times. It may help you also. Published May 2020.

Guest post on Stepping Up Through Fear
I had the pleasure of writing a guest post on Stepping Up Through Fear for Career Coach, Claire Curyer over at White Blank Pages. I discuss ways to recognise fear, acknowledge it and step up.
How often do you let fear take over? How often do you shy away from an uncomfortable or challenging situation when it is what you really want?
Head over to Claire’s beautiful website to read further on Stepping Up through Fear. Published July 2019.
Featured essay in ‘I Wrote It Anyway’ Anthology
I was thrilled to have my essay included in ‘I Wrote it Anyway: An Anthology of Essays’ edited by Caroline Donahue and Dal Kular. The collection captures writing efforts and achievements in the face of fear, resistance and circumstance to stimulate and inspire creative effort and writing. The authors reflect on all different ways of ‘writing it anyway’ and how they break through and persist to get creative work done.
All proceeds from the book go to two charities that support and inspire writing efforts, 826la in the US and Arts Emergency in the UK.
My essay: ‘Learning the value of writing as self-care’ about writing 442,000 words in the most challenging of years is one of 30 essays. I’m there along with a number of members of the Quiet Writing community.
So grab yourself a copy for inspiration and to support the writing of others. And huge thanks to Caroline and Dal for creating and crafting this important anthology and helping us write it anyway! Published December 2018.

Life Reaction
Life Reaction is a website and community that focuses on discovering yourself through others, personal growth, personality, inspiration and mental health. Introverted Intuition is my dominant function as an INTJ personality type. I’ve been learning more about it through my personal journey and as a practitioner in personality type. I share my insights to guide your own journey whatever your personality type. Published June 2017

As an INTJ with Introverted Intuiting as a dominant function, I’ve been interested to find out more about what it’s like for those who rely more on Extraverted Intuition (abbreviated as Ne) as a dominant way of operating. I share my learning and insights on intuition as an extraverted perceiving process to guide your own journey whatever your personality type. Published October 2017
The Introvert Effect Magazine
My piece, Shining a Quiet Light: Working the gifts of introversion was originally published in The Introvert Effect Magazine Issue 1 Feb 2017 and was reproduced on the Quiet Writing blog with permission of The Introvert Effect editor, Katherine MacKenzie-Smith.
